Kent's birthday and a grand picture tour of our apartment!

Kent turned the big 26 a month ago tomorrow! He had to go to class in the morning, but after that we went out to lunch, drove to Cannon Beach and explored around there, and then went shopping for his birthday and went out to dinner! He got Simpson Scene-It as a present and we played it while we ate his German Chocolate birthday cake!

OREGON IS BEAUTIFUL

Here are MANY pictures we have taken while we have explored around Portland for the past month. We love it and wish we could share it with ALL of you and have you visit!

Soon after we got here, Kent and I took his Mom, who stayed with us for a week, to Seaside Oregon! This is the place where Lewis and Clark ended their famous travels and found the Pacific Ocean. This is a statue of them!

The drive home from Seaside- look at those GREEN trees!

These beach pictures are from Cannon Beach, Oregon- another awesome beach on the coast! We went here for Kent's birthday on September 23rd!

Look at this cutie! (My Mom would disagree!) He is a wise old Great Horned Owl named Julio! He lives at a Bird Conservation Center in Portland with other bird friends.

Pictures from a farewell feast my family had for Kent and I before we left Utah!

Nathan Quayle Dutson! Look at that adorable face! He is my little buddy.

Little Leah Jane Dutson- one cute screamer! I miss her.

My wonderful Grandma!

Most of Kent and I's nieces and nephews- Rachel, Courtney, Kaleb, Ben, Jacob, Lauren, Cameron, and Tyler. I love them all so much!

We had a BBQ and the adults talked while the kids swam. It was great to be with a lot of my family. :)

All the family that came to our farewell feast! I have the GREATEST FAMILY!

My brother Lee and his little princess Leah

It is time! (to update this blog!)

As many of you know, a little over a month ago Kent and I moved to Beaverton, Oregon- a suburb of Portland. We moved here for Kent to go school at the Portland Community College and study Building Construction Technology. He is working towards an Associates Degree, so we will be here at least two years.

We love it here! It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The fall leaf colors are incredibly vibrant, everywhere you look there are lush green forests, and so many of the landscapes would make perfect subjects for paintings. (I will post some pictures to show you what I mean).

I finally got a job and started it this week!!! It seemed like it would NEVER happen! I am working at a Babies R Us about 15 minutes from our apartment and I think that I'm going to love it. Of course, it isn't my ideal job, but it is permanent, I can get about 30 hours each week, I have the possibility of insurance (!), and the people who work there are really nice and friendly. Plus, it will prepare to be a mom someday! I am excited to learn about various baby products and know what is best, etc. No, that is not an announcement- we are not expecting! I think that will come within the next year, but we shall see. :)

Anyways, everything is fine here. Kent really likes his classes and is doing really well. He even got the second to highest grade in the class on his last math test! That's my man! Our apartment is roomy and cozy, we are having fun exploring the area, and the kitties are their normal cute and crazy selves. We are happy!
